Clark County Cattlemen’s Spring Fling In The Park was held Saturday, May 1st. Those in attendance included the Clark County Cattlemen, Kahoka Lions Club, and many of our local 4-H groups, along with other local residents selling crafts, baked goods and more. Members from the Kahoka First Baptist Church were also in attendance to help show the community about the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoebox ministry outreach program. The shoebox project collects and delivers a shoebox full of personal hygiene items and school supplies to children affected by war, poverty, natural disasters, and other crises located in some of the hardest-to-reach places in the world.

On Tuesday, April 27th students and staff at Kahoka Head Start released 3 Monarch butterflies that started out as larvae. The children have been doing lessons on insects.
Local bank President, Paula Fox of Exchange Bank of Northeast Missouri recently presented a check in the amount of $2500. to Steve Yager, RC coordinator for The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri. These funds will serve 5 counties within the banks various locations in Clark, Marion, Shelby, Scottland, and Schuyler.
The amount of these funds received will allow The Food Bank for Central and Northeast to help provide at least over 10,000 meals and Buddy Packs to students within the counties The Food Bank serves.

With this year coming to an end and our senior officers getting ready to graduate, the Clark County FFA Chapter had to come up with a new officer team slate. So on Tuesday, April 20th the senior officers and advisors conducted the officer interviews for the new upcoming officer team.
After the interviews were finished and they looked over the applications they came to a decision. Then the officers placed the candidates where they thought that they would fit best and to bring success for the chapter for the upcoming year. It could not be finalized until the meeting on Thursday where the club would vote on whether or not this list provided would be the next year’s officer team for our chapter.
So on Thursday, April 22 the chapter voted to have the following as the new officers for next FFA year, President: Ethan Nelson, First Vice President: Colin Nichols, Second Vice President: Halea Davis, Secretary: Jacob Oliar, Assistant Secretary: Landon Arnold, Treasurer: Clayton Heinze, Assistant Treasurer: Callan Wheeler, Reporter: Ronee Scott, Assistant Reporter: Erin Bash, Assistant Reporter: Taylor Schantz, Sentinel: Luke Brown, Assistant Sentinel: Seth LaFrenz, Chaplain: Landon Toolate, Historian: Bryleigh Shaffer, Parliamentarian: Brenna Schantz.
